Volunteering


Nun Monkton Ferryboat Trust is a not-for-profit organisation, which has been set up to benefit the local communities. It is run by a truly fantastic team of volunteer skippers and crew, and following a really successful short opening season in 2017, we need more!

Time Commitment

The time commitment is expected to be approximately 2 sessions per month. These are weekends, 10am-1:30pm and 1:30pm- 5pm throughout April to October. Each session requires a team of two: Skipper and Crew.

Learn a new skill

Training is organised and cost is covered by the Trust. Skippers need to undertake RYA level 2 powerboat licence, a 2 day course, additional proficiency training on the actual vessel and first aid training. 

Crew will be will be offered a first aid course, and trained by an experienced skipper to assist with passengers, buoyancy aids and fares.
