Explore the Beningbrough side of the river
A beautiful baroque hall which houses an important collection of paintings from the National Portrait Gallery, and is surrounded by ancient parkland and glorious gardens. Beningbrough Hall is a National Trust property, and we’re very grateful for the support of the team there. For more information on opening times and maps of walks on the estate look at the Beningbrough Hall website.
Home Farm Shop and Cafe
Lucy and Alistair Jackson farm the land surrounding Beningbrough Hall and they also run the brilliant Home Farm Shop and Cafe, which serves a delicious array of homemade treats, as well as award winning Aberdeen Angus beef and gifts.
Newton on Ouse
Follow the delightful riverside walks away from Beningbrough Estate and you will discover the exquisite village of Newton on Ouse. Here you will find Newton’s two charming pubs: The Blacksmiths Arms and The Dawnay Arms. Other places of interest are the historic All Saints Church which is open every day and Cherry Tree Avenue which is quite stunning in the spring when the cherry blossom is out.
